Fair Produce is a Dutch quality mark for checking working conditions and wages in the mushroom sector. Dutch mushrooms with Fair Produce certification come from companies with a good social personnel policy and where employees are treated fairly and are well rewarded.
Fair Produce encourages 'being a good employer' in the horticultural chain. The Fair Produce Netherlands Foundation is the owner of the Fair Produce quality mark, which applies specifically to mushrooms. The Foundation started with the mushroom sector, but the modular system can also be used for other products from the food horticulture sector in the future. This improves fairness throughout the chain. Control Union Certifications B.V. can carry out inspections for both producers and traders in this sector.
