The Sustainable Forestry Initiative® Inc. is a sustainability leader that stands for future forests. SFI® is an independent, non-profit organization that provides supply chain assurances, delivers conservation leadership and supports education and community engagement. SFI believes that forests are the answer to so many of our conservation, community and supply chain challenges.
SFI works with the forest sector, brand owners, conservation groups, resource professionals, landowners, educators, local communities, Indigenous Peoples, governments and universities. SFI standards and on-product labels help consumers make responsible purchasing decisions.
Control Union can provide audits under the following standards:

  • SFI Chain of Custody
    The Standard is an accounting system that tracks forest fiber content through production and manufacturing to the product. Companies can use chain-of custody certification to track and communicate how much of their product comes from certified lands, fiber sourcing, recycled content or non-certified forest content. It applies to any organization that sources, processes, Manufactures, handles, trades, converts or prints forest-based products, globally.
  • SFI Fiber Sourcing Standard – Appendix 1: Rules for Use of SFI Certified Sourcing Label
    Appendix 1 of the Fiber Sourcing Standard applies to primary or secondary producers who use the SFI Certified Sourcing on-product label or claim. Appendix 1 can apply to any organization globally.
