Control Union Certifications issued 1st GSES certificate

Today, Groenendijk Workwear was awarded the 1st GSES certificate by Control Union Certifications. With the GSES certificate, Groenendijk Workwear has an international and distinctive certificate. With the Global Sustainable Enterprise certificate, Groenendijk Workwear demonstrates that its work meets strict requirements in the field of corporate social responsibility, socially responsible purchasing, circular business and CO2 reduction.

The GSES certifications of Groenendijk workwear show that it is ambitious and that sustainability is carried out at all levels in the organisation. Examples are the Textilepoint return system, circular product design and the recently circularly converted business premises.

Control Union announces a gift of five new standards to Textile Exchange for future growth and industry transformation

Control Union, a founding member of Textile Exchange, has been a strong promoter of the third-party assessment system, namely that policy making, certification and accreditation are organized by different parties.  It was for this reason that in 2011 Control Union gifted to Textile Exchange the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and Recycled Content Standard (RCS) which now serve over 1,875 sites.

Control Union Hosts Textile Certifications Masterclass

Control Union UK is running a series of training sessions on the textile sustainability programs.

The trainings will delve into the requirements of certification programs, and into the available systems to manage certifications and the related documents.

The sessions will focus on organic, recycled and animal welfare standards including Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and Textile Exchange standards: Global Recycled Standard (GRS), Organic Content Standard (OCS), Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) & Responsible Down Standard (RDS).

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), a specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability, in collaboration with the International Trade Centre (ITC), is jointly implementing an European Union (EU) funded project titled “EU – Sri Lanka Trade-Related Assistance for Increasing SMEs Trade Competitiveness in Regional and EU Markets.” The designated national counterpart for the project is the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC) of the Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL).
As a part of the EU – Sri Lanka Trade-Related Assistance for Increasing SMEs Trade Competitiveness in Regional and EU Markets”, UNIDO and Control Union are organizing a Public Awareness Session on Organic Agriculture.
