KZR INiG System

The KZR INiG System is a Polish biomass and biofuels certification, operating globally. It is based on the requirements of the RED II Directive on renewable energy sources (2018/2001 / EU).

The KZR INiG System has no territorial restrictions and meets following additional requirements:

  • Polish: KOWR register (formerly ARR) – KZR INiG registered under BIO/ASC/001/2014
  • German: BLE register (Die Bundesanstalt für Landwirtschaft und Ernährung) – KZR INiG registered under number EU-BM 22

The KZR INiG System accepts schemes that are recognizsed by the European Commission. The list of schemes recognized by European Commission is here available.

The KZR INiG System has been developed at the Oil and Gas Institute – NRI, a company with more than 70 years experience in the field of biofuels, closely cooperating with the industry all over the world.

The set of requirements applies to land for the cultivation of raw materials (agricultural biomass, forest biomass) for the production of fuels and the reduction of Green House Gas (GHG) emissions and the correctness of the mass balance.

The participants of this certification system are all entities in the supply chain, regardless of the business place. The entire life cycle of biofuels, bioliquids and biomass fuels is assessed and the system covers all entities which are legal owners of sustainable materials.

Participants may be certified in accordance with one of the following certification paths:
  • Biofuels and bioliquids,
  • Fuels from biomass,
  • Recycled coal fuels,
  • Fuels from renewable sources of non-biological origin.

The KZR INiG system covers all raw materials used in the above certification paths.
