UKCA Marking is a product marking used for certain goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland), often termed ‘New Approach’ goods. It was introduced in January 2021 to replace CE Marking and from January 2023 manufacturers that have or want to introduce ‘new approach’ goods onto the GB market will need a UKCA Marking instead of CE Marking.
Products with CE Marking carried out by a UK notified body for third-party assessment of conformity will no longer be valid. To maintain the CE Marking for those products, manufacturers will need to work with a notified body that is registered in an EU member state. This ensures your CE marking will be recognised within the EU and in the UK until the end of 2022.
Finotrol Oy, part of the Control Union group, is a notified body in a number EU member states, and can provide CE Marking services for these products.
Full information on the UKCA mark can be found here.
