As part of the joint effort and initiative carried out by Control Union Peru and Control Union Certifications Germany, we are pleased to announce that Control Union has been recognized by the Ministry of the Environment of Peru as qualified to verify the quality of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) measurements of those companies registered in the digital platform “Carbon Footprint Perú” (Huella de Carbono Peru). This was achieved by submitting evidence and relevant information related to the accreditation of the ISO 14065:2013 standard.
“Carbon Footprint Peru” is an innovative tool that the Peruvian government has built and made available for free for all those companies interested in reducing the negative impact of their activities on the environment. With this tool, The Ministry of Environment of Peru (MINAM) aims to improve the quality of the national emission data and systematize the information in order to generate a domestic carbon market in Peru.
Companies such as Scotiabank, CrediScotia and Profuturo, among others, have now received the "Carbon Footprint Peru" recognition by MINAM, for registering their GHG emissions measurements onto the platform; thus joining the educational campaign and sensibilization that the MINAM is pushing forward in order to achieve the overall goal of reducing GHG emissions by 30% by 2030. Now, Control Union is proud to be a part of this challenge.
